Catie was born in Grass Valley, California and grew up south of Darby, Montana surrounded by the beautiful Bitterroot National Forest. Catie is a first-generation college graduate.
She graduated from the University of Montana where she earned a B.A. in English Literature and Creative Writing in 2008, an M.A. in English Literature with a Graduate Certificate in Women & Gender Studies in 2013, and her Juris Doctorate in 2023. Before pursuing her J.D., she worked as a paralegal for several years gaining a broad range of experiences and skills in civil litigation.
Catie practices in all State of Montana Courts, the Montana Supreme Court, and the U.S. District Court of Montana. Catie specializes in family law, but also practices in other areas of civil law such as estate planning, contract law, landlord tenant law, and property law. Catie’s practice focuses on providing clients with thoughtful, compassionate, and competent legal representation through the trying times in their lives. Utilizing her extensive background in English instruction and teaching, Catie breaks down complex legal concepts for her clients into plain English to help them make the important decisions that will impact their cases.
Catie’s mantra for her practice originates in the 1980’s classic Roadhouse, starring Patrick Swayze, which is “I want you to be nice until it’s time not to be nice.”
